Since 2007 I have been collaborating with composer, sound artist and inventor of the Long String Instrument (LSI), Ellen Fullman. Meeting in the worlds of improvisation, composition, songs and multi-media performance, our work together includes performances at the Berkeley Art Museum, Fort Worth Texas, releases on Important Record's Harmonic Series (album of works in Just Intonation curated by Duane Pitre) and The Headlands (LP performed with Barn Owl and The Norman Conquest). I appear in filmmaker Peter Esmonde's poetic documentary-hommage to Ellen's work, 5 Variations On A Long String. Ellen's expansive LSI is also a central component in the improvised opera, O Sleep. |
